Distribution: Madagascar, Comoros and Mayotte.

Generally associated with Stichodactyla mertensii sea anemone, but can be found in other species, such as Heteractis magnifica.

Often confused with Amphiprion clarkii, Amphiprion chrysopterus and Amphiprion bicinctus, but Amphiprion latifasciatus is the only species in this area with a caudal fin slightly forked.
